The Kwara State government has reviewed the indefinite curfew imposed on Offa/Erin-Ile communities over communal clashes.
A statement by the spokesman of the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, in Ilorin on Tuesday, said “the curfew period will now be between 8p.m and 6a.m daily.”
The review, according to the statement, is effective from Wednesday, March 24,2021.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq had imposed the curfew on the two communities on March 4,2021, following renewed hostilities between some people from the two towns.
The Governor commended security forces for the good job done so far in enforcing the curfew directive.
He also appealed to leaders of the two communities to continue to restrain and caution their people against provocative actions and maintain peace.
